Patreon has affirmed it has laid off five workers from its security group.
Emily Metcalfe, a previous senior security engineer at Patreon, said in
a LinkedIn post on Thursday: "So no matter what, I and the remainder
of the Patreon Security Group are no longer with the organization.
" As per a tweet, Metcalfe joined the organization in November 2021.
Metcalfe couldn't be gone after remark. In a short proclamation to
TechCrunch, Patreon's U.S. strategy head Ellen Satterwhite affirmed
the five cutbacks yet declined to respond to our inquiries, or say the
number of representatives it that had in the security group before the
cutbacks. Satterwhite didn't debate that the whole group had been
laid off. Satterwhite wouldn't agree why Patreon laid off its security
engineers, yet added that the organization works with outside
associations to "foster our security capacities and lead normal security appraisals."
