Lufthansa Pilots on Strike

Lufthansa has offered a sum of 900 euros ($901.35) more in fundamental compensation 

each month in two phases north of a 18-month term as well as an

The carrier said on Sep 1 that it would need to drop 800 trips on Friday, 

possible influencing 130,000 travelers, after the pilots' association declared a one-day strike, Reuters revealed.

The report said that the Vereinigung Cockpit (VC) association had expressed late on 

August 31 that discussions to increment compensations had fizzled. 

The association is requesting a 5.5% salary raise this year, and a programmed 

expansion remuneration from there on, for its in excess of 5,000 pilots.
